About Melodies & Memories Entertainment

Melodies & Memories Entertainment, began providing the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex with professional DJ services for parties and events of any occassion in 2002.  The company is owned by two outstanding women, Melody Gualtiere and Lori C. Jackson. This dynamic duo has blazed a path in an industry that has been typically dominated by men.  Their long list of satisfied customers can attest to their ability to blend in and become part of the party, adding a special touch of sparkle that makes their parties unforgettable.

Melody Gualtiere, a native Texan, became a DJ after traveling through Irving’s MacArthur High School Theatre Department to the Art Institute of Dallas Music & Video Business Department, where she earned her Applied Arts Degree.  From there she landed her first industry job as a Master Control Operator for Univision TV’s local affiliate KUVN, Channel 23.  Her responsibilities included every thing from television programming for Spanish viewers to coordinating local and national commercials.  She also was a Production Coordinator with The Stephen Arnold Group where she assisted the production artists with scheduling and coordinated music sessions for various local and national radio and TV spots.

When Melody saw an ad in the Dallas Observer looking for someone with a great personality, willing to party on weekends and not afraid to talk into a microphone.  She answered the ad and became a mobile DJ for a nationally recognized mobile DJ franchise.  Within this company she quickly became the DFW Metroplex’s leading DJ and throughout her tenure was one of the top two DJ’s nationally within the franchise.  She then moved into the office accepting a position as Director of Show Quality…she had found her career!

During this time, Lori C. Jackson was also making her mark on the entertainment scene.  A native of Michigan, Lori came to Texas in 1983 via her mother’s job with IBM.  Although the transition was difficult, Lori was quickly relieved when her mother landed her an audition at the Arts Magnet High School for Performing Arts, in Dallas.  Lori was accepted and enrolled in her junior year.  She became involved with all aspects of music and theatre - earning various singing spots in both district and regional UIL vocal arts competitions throughout the State.  She then enrolled into OCU to pursue her major in Musical Theatre.  OCU did not pan out for her, so she decided to return home and join the US Army!  She actively served our country for 2 years as a Fuel & Electrical Systems Specialist but her military career was cut short by a severe knee injury that gave her an early medical discharge.

Not really knowing what to do next, Lori started working at various call centers around the metroplex.  One day she saw an ad for the Art Institute of Dallas Music & Video Business Department.  She enrolled and there is where she and Melody’s paths crossed.  They quickly became friends.  Lori then moved onto her first industry job as a video editor for The Video Editor.  Although challenging, it still wasn’t what she wanted to do.  She also worked at KUVN as a Master Control Operator.  Within two years she was promoted to Senior Night Operator and was offered a position in the Traffic Department. She then moved onto work in American TV at the local affiliates of CBS and FOX as National Sales Coordinator and Assistant.  Upon her departure from TV she had various odd jobs until she decided to start assisting Melody with her DJ career.

That's when the magic happened.  Through their mutual love of DJ'ing and making people happy, they founded Melodies & Memories... and the rest they say, "is history"!
